Marion L. Boyum, age 77, of Madison, Wis., and formerly of Faribault, Minn., died peacefully on September 7, 2002. Services were held Thursday, September 12, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Faribault, with Dr. Mark Noren, pastor, officiating. Interment was at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault. Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, assisted with the arrangements. Marion L. Thiele, the daughter of Edward and Pearl (Weber) Thiele, was born on May 15, 1925, in New Albin. On April 14, 1962, she married Gerald W. Boyum, Sr. She retired from Norwest Bank of Faribault after 20 years as a bookkeeper. During her retirement, Marion enjoyed being a Foster Grandparent at Washington School and later at Roosevelt Elementary School in Faribault. She also volunteered at the Faribault Food Shelf and River Bend Nature Center. She maintained her membership at St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Faribault. She is survived by three daughters, Lady Branham, Chicago, Ill., Nancy (Michael) Kenow of Oakdale, Minn., Sally Boyum of Rochester, Minn.; two sons, Bruce (Melinda) Boyum, Madison, Wis., and Gerald (Wanda) Boyum Jr., Faribault; 13 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; one brother Chester (Ellen) Thiele, Waukon; and a sister, Ruth Bale, Minneapolis, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald W. Boyum Sr.; infant son Bobby; two daughters, Karen (Branham) Bielinski and Carol (Boyum) Teigen; a granddaughter, Dana Bielinski; a brother, Delmar Thiele; and a sister, Ruby Ryan. In lieu of flowers, memorials to an organization of your choice are preferred
