Obituary--Louis Hirth

Brief mention was made last week of the death and burial of Mr. Louis Hirth whose funeral was held Thursday afternoon. He was born in Allamakee Sept. 17, 1865, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hirth, in French Creek township. He never married and was engaged in farming until his retirement to Lansing more than 40 years ago. He was the last member of a family of six children, two brothers, John and William, three sisters, Lydia, Emma and Mrs. Joe Sandry, preceding him in death. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Mays Prairie and has been in slowly failing health the past several years.

The only survivors are 6 nieces and 1 nephew and the pall bearers serving at the time of burial were John and Fred Schafer, Dewey Leppert, Theo. Wendel, Ben Marti and Joseph Martin.
