Death of Paul Stehr
The remains of Paul Stehr arrived here Friday noon from LaCrosse, where he died at a hospital after a brief illness. The body was taken to the home of his parents in Wheatland, Union City township. Deceased was born in that township July 4, 1895, where he grew to manhood and made his home of a farm since. On Jan. 19, 1921, he was united in marriage to Miss Adalia Verthein at St. John's Evangelical church, Wheatland. Two children were born to this union, who with the sorrowing wife, survive him. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Stehr, Sr., one brother, William, and two sisters, Mrs. Otto Gade and Amanada Stehr, all of Wheatland, and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Stehr was a true Christian husband and father who devoted his life to his family, but still found time to form many true and lasting friends, and was always ready and willing to do his part in any good work. The funeral, which was one of the largest ever held at St. John's Evangelical church in Wheatland, was held Monday at 12 M. from the home of his parents to St. John's church, where the local pastor, Rev. R. Zielinske, assisted by Rev. F. C. Klein of Eitzen, officiated. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. The flower girls were the Misses Clara and Laura Schuttemeyer, Ida Welligman and Irma Beneke.
