Obituary - Albert Krueger
On the first day of this new year it pleased the Lord to call from us and plant into the home above, a true Christian devoted husband, father and friend. About five weeks ago the deceased took ill with pneumonia and was taken to the St. Francis hospital, La Crosse, for treatment and where he received the best of care. As it seemed he was well on the way of recovery; however, complications set in, causing a severe hemmorhage and with brought about his death, rather unexpectedly.
Albert Henry Krueger was born on April 6, 1896, on his folks farm in Houston County, Minn., where he lived the greater part of his life. About ten years ago he went to Elmhurst, Il., where he was employed at the Elmhurst College for five years. The last five years he spent farming on the J. W. Meyer farm in Union City township.
He was married to Emma Vonderohe on July 24, 1929. They were blessed with two daughters, Eleanor 7 and Helen 5 years. Besides his beloved wife and daughters, he leaves to mourn his aged mother, Mrs. Henry Krueger of New Albin, two sisters, Mrs. Walter Fetketter of French Creek township and Mrs. Norman Lueck of Dakota, Minn.; four brothers, Walter, Alfred and Henry of this vicinity and George of near Caledonia, Minn., besides many other relatives and freinds.
The funeral services were held at St. John's Church in Wheatland on Wednesday, Jan 4., Rev. A. Suedmeier officiating, who preached on that we need not mourn as those who have no hope, and who said that he truly loved his Master and church above all others, and that he was a true church member. His body was laid to rest in the nearby cemetery.
All too soon was Alber taken from us but we know we shall see him again in his Home above.
Those from out of town in attendance at the funeral were: Mrs. Rika Weber and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Reinke of Caledonia, Minn.; and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Lueck, Dakota, Minn.; Rev. A. Vonderohe of Warsaw, Ill., and E. H. Vonderohe and son Robert of Elmhust, Illinois.
