Elmer A. Fogt, 93, of Waukon, died Wednesday, April 10, 1996, in Good Samaritan Center, Waukon.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion United Chutch of Christ and burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, both in Waukon.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Martin Funeral Home, Waukon.

Elmer A. Fogt 1902-1996
Elmer A. Fogt, son of Fred Henry and Julia (Klocke) Fogt, was born December 27, 1902 on his parents's Ludlow Township farm near Waukon, Iowa. He died April 10, 1996 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. He was 93 years old.He was baptized and confirmed at Zalmona Presbyterian Church, where he was a member since the early 1920's. He was educated at Ludlow #1 rural elementary school and graduated from Waukon High School in 1921. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Business College in 1923 and Wisconsin School of Banking in 1958.
He was married to Martha H. Dravis on May 6, 1926 in Waukon.
He started work for Waukon State Bank in 1923 and continued there in various capacities for 51 years. He was a janitor, cashier, teller, bookkeeper, vice-president, president and chairman of the board. Since retiring from the bank in 1974, he operated a custom frame shop in Waukon. He was a former member of the Waukon Drum & Bugle Corps and enjoyed gardening, fishing, travel and playing the piano. He belonged to the Zion United Church of Christ where he served as a Sunday School superintendent, deacon and elder. He was a past member and officer of Waukon Kiwanis, director of Winneshiek Co. Mutual Insurance Assoc., Allamakee Co. Historical Society and former treasurer of Allamakee Co. Heart Assoc., and former area chairman of Federation of Small Business.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha who died December 24, 1980; and sisters, Mildred Jeide and Esther Hoth.
He is survived by a son, Charles and his wife, Phyllis Fogt of Waukon; four grandchildren, Lila, Sharla, Allen and Donna; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 13, 1996 at Zion United Church of Christ with Rev. Richard N. Eick officiating. Casketbearers were Lynn Morrow, John Leschensky, Richard Hoth, Chester Thiele, John Prestemon, Mayhew Eaton, Oliver Emerson and A. V. Palmer. The Martin Funeral Home of Waukon was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
