Marie L. Philips, 94, of Waukon, died Thursday, August 26, 1999, at Good Samaritan
Center in Waukon, following a lengthy illness.Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Waukon. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Martin Funeral home, Waukon.

Funeral services for Marie Louise Philips, age 94, of Waukon, Iowa, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon, Iowa with arrangements by Martin Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Wilbur Rose, John Hausman, Fred Hausman, Larry Klocke, Russell Paus, and Cole Philips.
Marie Louise, daughter of William and Anna (Troendle) Hausman, was born December 26, 1904 on their farm in French Creek Township in Allamakee County Iowa. Marie graduated from the Waukon High School. She worked as a cashier for Interstate Power Company for 15 years and was the deputy auditor for Allamakee County for 15 years. On December 26, 1944 she married George Phillips at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where she was the organist for many years. Marie was a member of the Waukon Senior Citizens and a 50 years member of Eastern Star.
Marie Louise Philips died Thursday, August 26, 1999 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, a sister, Mathilda Welper and 3 brothers, Walter Hausman, Fred Hausman, and Frank Hausman.
Marie is survived by a son, Donn (Julie) Philips of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, 3 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
