Mildred B. Valesh, 82, died Sunday, May 23, 1993, at her home in New Albin, IA.
She was born Aug. 22, 1910, in New Holstein, WI, to Alfred and Edna Quade.
Mildred graduated from North High School in Milwaukee in 1928. She married James C. Valesh, Nov. 11, 1932. He died April 2, 1980.
She moved to New Albin in 1934. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin, and of the Eastern Star; a volunteer for the Makee Manor, rural Waukon; currently a volunteer at the New Albin mealsite; and a member of St. Peter's Womens groups.
She is survived by a son, Keith (Ann) of Oelwein; a daughter, Jane (Jim) Holmes of Hereford, TX; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Fredrick of Milwaukee.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Siebert officiated.
Pallbearers were Milton Somermeyer, John Gibbs, Ray Whalen, Dick Dibert, Michael Steffans, Jeff Pohlman and Dave Kruse.
Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove, MN, was in charge of arrangements.
