Marcia I. Baechler, 90, a lifelong resident of New Albin, passed away Sunday, July 8, 1990, at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa.
She was born January 8, 1900 to Charles T. and Anna E. (Holz) Irons.
On January 8, 1921, she married Alex Baechler in Wabasha, Minnesota.
She attended the New Albin Public School, was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, an honorary member of Grace United Methodist Women's Society and Royal Neighbors of America.
For sixteen year, she was the New Albin correspondent for the Allamakee Journal.
Surviving her are one daughter, Faye Wenzel, of Chicago, IL; one nephew, Charles Irons of Charles City, Iowa; two great nieces, Michelle Irons of Charles City, IA and Mrs. Dale Moe of Northwood, IA; and one great-great-nephew, Christopher Dale Moe of Northwood, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and two brothers, Ledford and Howard (Conny) Irons.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, July 11 at 2 p.m at Grace United Methodist Church in New Albin with the Rev. Rob Richards officiating. Burial was in the New Albin City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bob Dresselhaus, Ray Whalen, Delbert Fink, Joel Sires, Cleon Sires, and Charles Dee.
Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, IA was in charge of funeral arrangements.
