Obituary – Mrs. James Fish
Maude May Evans was born in Franklin township Allamakee county, Iowa, May 4, 1888 and passed away from this life to the great beyond on April 18, 1926 at the age of 37 years 11 months and 16 days.
On December 24, 1906 she was united in marriage with James Fish which union was blessed with three children.
Benjaman proceeding her in death at the age of a few days, Robert Vinton age 15 years and Mildred Jane age 10 years.
Beside the two children and bereaved husband she leaves to mourn her sudden departure, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Evans, three brothers and two sisters, Wm. Evans of Oelwein, Iowa, Mrs. Carl Ralston of Waukon, Iowa, Carl of Kenosha, Wis, Arthur and Addie at home. One sister age 14 years and one brother aged 11 months who proceeded her in death.
In 1913 she united with the U.B. Church at Forest Mills and remained steadfast in the Christian faith until called to her final reward.
Maude will be long remembered by all who knew her, as a good neighbor, a true friend a faithful and affectionate wife and mother.
The funeral services were held at Presbyterian church Rossville, Rev. Van Nice officiating and burial at Smithfield cemetery, Wednesday, April 21.Card of Thanks
In life there are many tests of friendship, the supreme test coming in great times of need.
We desire to express our grateful appreciation of the kindly deeds and words that came to us in our great affliction, and to say to each one God bless you.
