A.T. Wendel's Rites on Monday, Burial at Lansing
The funeral of A.T. Wendel was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from First Presbyterian church here. The Rev. Mr. William Tjaden officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lansing.
Pallbearers were Henry Rissman, Alvin Aldrich, Clinton Dee, Leonard Dee, Howard Wendel and Alfred Wendel.
Mr. Wendel who had lived in Waukon for the past three years, died Aug. 21 at his home here. He had been in poor health for the last two years.
Born in Lansing township June 25, 1879, Mr. Wendel was a life-long resident of Allamakee county. His parents were William and Barbara Hirth Wendel. He was married to Evelyn Dee in french Creek township Sept. 14, 1904. She remains, as do their daughters, Metha, Now Mrs. John O'Daniels of Clinton, and Colene, now Mrs. Kenneth Brooks of Waukon. There are three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Also remaining are four brothers: John Wendel of Spring Grove, Minn; Henry Wendel of Eagle Bend, Minn; Adam Wendel, of Detroit, Mich,. and Frank Wendel of Tampa, Fla.,Mr. Wendel who had been an farmer in his earlier years, was educated in the county schools, and was a member of the Presbyterian church.
