Alvin H. Renk, 78, New Albin, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 1989, in Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon. He was born July 5, 1911, in Union City Township, Allamakee County to August and Ida (Kurk) Renk. He married Edna Hahn on May 3, 1939, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin.

Survivors are his wife, Edna; a son, Kermit and his wife Carol of New Albin; two grandchildren, Thomas and Janelle; two sisters, Olga Vonderohe and Amanda Kruse, both of New Albin.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Wheatland. The Revs. Louise and Douglas Gordon-Dennison will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Haugen-Roble Funeral Home, Caledonia, Minn., is in charge of arrangements.
