Ramona Josephine Burke Wardlow, 76, of Waterloo, died Monday, October 2, 2006 at home of natural causes. Services were held Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Waterloo with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo.

Ramona was born April 23, 1930 in Waukon, the daughter of Thomas Joseph and Lucille Genevieve Kingsley Burke. She married James Michael Wardlow August 22, 1953 in Hanover Township, rural Waukon.

Ramona was a graduate of Mt. Mercy College and was employed in Radiologic Technology at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Allen Hospital and with Dr. Bernard Diamond in Waterloo, and Rohlf Clinic in Waverly.

She is survived by her husband James of Waterloo; five sons, James (Adriana) of Boyton Beach, FL, Michael (Sarita) of Minnetonka, MN, Thomas (Susan) of Newton, Patrick (Renee) of Waterloo, and William of Milwaukee, WI; three daughters, Ellen Benson of Crystal Lake, IL, Cathy (Greg) Slick of La Porte City, and Maureen Wardlow of Waterloo; grandchildren Josh and Dan Slick, Alex and Jessica Benson, Amber (Mark) Ridder, Chris, Brandy, John, Sarah, David, Rebecca, Kyle, Liz, and Erin Wardlow; two brothers, Bill (Mary Kay) Burke of Madison, WI and twin Ray (Mary Ann) Burke of Waukon; and one sister-in-law, Joyce Burke of Menominee Falls, WI.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gerald and Thomas Burke; and two sisters, Mildred (Kenneth) Hall and Mary Burke in infancy.

Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Queen of Peace Community Meals Program.
