Thomas Robert Doubek, 75, died October 28, 2006 at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m. at Hanson Funeral Home with Father Joseph Schneider officiating. Thomas was buried at the St Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Hanover.
Honorary casketbearers were Amy Isakov, Jessie Larson, and Jenny Larson. Casketbearers were Doug Crary, Dan Crary, Justin Larson, Matt Doubek, Roger Kruger, and Melvin Larson. Hanson Funeral Home made arrangements for the family.
Thomas Doubek was born September 22, 1931 in Allamakee County to Frank and Mary (Hayle) Doubek. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Waukon. He served as part of the armed services in Korea from 1952 - 1953.
He married Mary Ann Houlihan November 5, 1955 in Caledonia, MN. The couple moved to Waukon, where Thomas worked in construction.
He is survived by three daughters, Debbie Doubek, Vicki (Melvin) Larson, and Barb Crary, all of Waukon, as well as seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Helen Houlihan and Virginia Oesterfe of Caledonia, MN and Evelyn Doubek of Austin, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Doubek; his wife Mary Ann; his son, Thomas Micheal Doubek; two sisters, Lillian Schwartzoff, Helen Duffy, and seven brothers, Tony, Ray, Joe, Carl, Francis, Ralph, and Wesley Doubek; as well as a son-in-law, Douglas Crary.
Tom will be missed by his daughters and grandchildren and by everyone who knew him and enjoyed his company.
