Obituary of Meta Allina Krogman Schroeder,1880-1958

RITES HELD FOR META SCHROEDER

Funeral services were held Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at St. Paul`s Lutheran Church for Mrs. Meta Schroeder,77,who passed way at a nursing home in Hampton,Iowa on August 28,1958. The Rev. Charles E.Witt,pastor of St. Paul`s officiated. Burial in the Postville Cemetery.

Mrs. J.H.W. Schroeder, Meta Allina Krogman, was born in Mecklenburg,Schwerin,Germany,Dec.31,1880,the daughter of William Krogman and his wife Maria Thiess Krogman.She was baptized in Germany by Rev.Starr,and came to this country with her parents at the age of 2.

She was confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church,Clayton Center by the Rev.Seifert on March 29,1895. She was united in marriage to J.H.W.Schroeder at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. Braun.

They lived on a farm near Castalia until Feb. 25,1915 when they moved to Postville. Mrs, Schroeder became a member of Post Rebekah Lodge No. 48 on Dec. 8,1921 and served secretary of the organization for nine years.

She is survived by three sisters, Bertha,Mrs. Myrl Hicks of Charles City,Emma, Mrs F.O. Zimmerman of Oklahoma City,Oklahoma,Frieda,Mrs. W.E. Sturdevant,Lehigh,nieces,nephews and other relatives and friends.
