Word was received at Lansing Thursday of the death of Gus Leppert at Portland, Ore., where he had made his home with a son, going there from Berlin, N. D. He was a son of Andrew and Eva Manderscheid-Leppert and was born on May's Prairie about 78 years ago. He attended the rural school on May's Prairie and was married to Clara Henry, who died more than 25 years ago. He is survived by two sons, Kermit and Lloyd and their families, in Portland and North Dakota and a brother Fred near Moberly, Mo. Preceding him in death were his brothers John and Chris, sisters, Matilda and Lena and half brothers Andrew, Phillip and Charles, half sisters, Mrs. Hannah Ebner, Mrs. Josephine Hirth, and another sister also married to Jacob Hirth. Funeral services and burial were at Portland.
