The reamins of Mrs. J. W. Shinkle arrived yesterday on the morning train from Osmond, Neb., and were taken to her former home, accompanied by sorrowfull relatives and friends.

Irene Esther Shinkle, was born April 20, 1895, the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Glynn of this city. She attended the Lansing grade and High Schools, finishing in 1913, after which she taught in the rural schools of this vicinity. Later on she attended and graduated from the Winona (Minn.) State Norman, then teaching three years in the schools of Sioux City. She married to J. W. Shinkle Jan. 22, 1921, and has since made her home for the greater part of the time at Osmond, Neb.

With everything desirable to live for, she contracted a complication of blood diseases and died Saturday, Jan. 7, at 12:30 p.m. after a couple of months serious illness, during which time all that human skill could do was rendered her but to no avail.

Besides the sorrowing husband, she leaves one daughter, Barbara, aged 5, her parents, three brothers, namely, Charles of Reno, Minn., Sam of Waterville, Iowa, and William of Parkston, S. D., and one sister, Mrs. Lloyd Billheimer of West Liberty, Iowa, who, with their families, were all present at the the funeral, which took place yesterday at 2 o'clock from the Federated Church, Rev. Paul Krebs of Waukon officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery.

Out of town relatives and friends at the funeral were: Mr. John Becker and Miss Caroline Becker, of Elkader; Miss Bertha Hendrickson, Waukon; Mrs. John Bushman, LaCrosse; Andrew Lape, Barton, N. D.; Mesdames John Lape, St. Paul, Will Pohl, Joe Whalen, Marquette, John Rellihan, Harpers Ferry, G. J. Greener, C. A. Greener, F. J. Greener and L. W. Greener of Reno, Minn.
