Kathryn Mueller

Kathryn E. Mueller, 91, of Waukon, Iowa, died Friday, February 24, 2006, at Good Samaritan Center in Waukon. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 28 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon, with Fr. Joseph Schneider officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Kathryn Elizabeth was born June 8, 1914, in National, Iowa. She was the daughter of Richard and Stella (Meder) Meehan. Kathryn attended school in Clayton County and took a year of Normal Training in Cedar Falls, after which she taught school for a while.

She married Cletus “Joe” Daman and the marriage was later annulled.

Kathryn moved to Waukon in 1951 where she worked as a medical records secretary at Waukon Medical Associates for over 25 years.

She married Paul Mueller at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon, and enjoyed 22 years as a couple living in Waukon and spending many winter months in Texas. She has been a resident of Good Samaritan Center since 2003.

Kathryn was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where she sang in the choir, Catholic Daughters of America, ACCW, American Legion Auxiliary, and Amvets. She enjoyed traveling, taking trips throughout the United States and Europe. She also liked to golf, play cards and bingo, and spend time visiting with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Mueller of Sioux City, Iowa; two children, Jerry (Sandy) Daman of Mt. Sinai, N.Y., and Mary Daman of Cedar Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Judy Daman of Waterloo, Neb.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Bud (Annabelle) Meehan of Austin, Texas; five step-children, Susan Kimpling of Beloit, Wis., Mary (Denny) Hicklin of Sioux City, Iowa, Margaret (Bill) Wallace of Burnsville, Minn., Bill (Beth) Mueller of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Frank (Sandie) Mueller of Anoka, Minn.; 19 step-grandchildren; 24 step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mike Daman; two sisters, Marge Wright and Bernice McGeough; and two brothers, Howard and Lloyd Meehan.

Casketbearers were Jerry and Jeremy Troendle, Steve Toth, Dick Wright, Manuel Madrigal, and Dan Meehan.
