D.B. Henderson (Dave) who aspires to the nomination of sheriff of Black Hawk county, at the republican primaries to be held June 1, is making a hard personal campaign for the nomination, and his friends figure that he has a good chance of being a successful candidate.

Mr. Henderson was in the race two years ago and made a hard fight, losing to Sheriff Shores by a very small margin. The experience gained in his last campaign has undoubtedly given him, not only a wide personal acquaintance with party leaders and individuals throughout the county, but a knowledge of campaigning which helps him in the present campaign.

Mr. Henderson is a native son of Iowa, having been born at Postville in 1872. He has been a resident and citizen of Waterloo for the past twenty-two years and for the past eighteen years has been an employee of the Illinois Central as fireman and engineer.

He is a nephew of the late Col. D.B. Henderson, who represented the Third Iowa Congregational [sic] district at Washington and served for a number of years as [illegible word].
