Hopefully this information will be of some value to your research. It looks like Emma Westlake had a sister, Louise (Knust) Rabe also living in Noble Township, Cass County, Iowa. You probably already have the information on Frederick Knust and Dorothea Meyer/Myer and the census, cemetery, and Civil War records but if not, I included them since I located them in searching to assist you.

Louisa Rabe, 81, died in Norfolk, Nebraska.... Native of Germany....Mrs. Rabe was born on April 17, 1850 in Germany, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Knuet. [sic] She was united in marriage to William Rabe who died on June 17, 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Rabe had lived in Noble township for many years. Mrs. Rabe was a member of St. John's Lutheran church in Noble township.... Burial in Noble Center Cemetery.
