The death of Samuel Murdock occurred Sunday at his home near Iveyville. Deceased, who was one of the well known men in the community in which he lived, was sick only a few days, although he had been in rather poor health for some time. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the home, the services being conducted by Rev. Mr. Driver. Interment was in Prairie Rose Cemetery. The high esteem in which Mr. Murdock was held was shown by the immense attendance at the funeral, nearly a mile of teams being in the procession. Mr. Murdock had lived in Jasper Township for a number of years and no one stood higher among the people as a man and neighbor. Many friends will sincerely mourn his death. He leaves a wife and three children, Harry, Frank, and Mrs. Ola Bowman. They have the sympathy of the entire community.
