Eben Harvey Rogers, third son of Lyman H. and Jennie M. Rogers, was born on the farm home southwest of Corning, November 15, 1880 and died at his home in the same neighborhood, July 6, 1946, age 85 years, 7 months, and 21 days.
He was united in marriage to Fannie Wycoff of Corning, Iowa, February 9, 1921. They had one daughter, Jennie Alice, who died at the age of 18 months.
He was a member of the IOOF Lodge for many years. He joined the Brooks Presbyterian Church when a young man and always lived a Christian Life.
His father and mother preceded him in death many years ago, and his brother Charlie, passed away three months ago.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his brother, Dwight A. Rogers, his sister, Alma Rogers, and his deiced, Jet Rogers, all of Corning. Other near relatives are Mrs. Alice Wycoff of Corning; Ethel Wycoff of Everett, Washington; Ellsworth Wycoff and Dick Wycoff of Chicago, Illinois; and Mrs. C. L. Rogers of Corning and several cousins.
Eben was a kind and thoughtful, always ready to help his family and friends.He has lived all his life i this community and leaves a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted from his farm home, Monday afternoon, July 8, at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Victor A. Bloomquist was in charge at the services and interment was made in Prairie Rose Cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. Albert Lund and Mrs. Russell Roland, accompanied at the piano by Miss Vida Jackson. Pall bearers were Maney Lundquist, George Little, Albert Lund, Henry Mitchell, Fay Johnson, and Maurice Relchardt.
