William Ezekiel Daugherty, aged 64, passed away at his home in Nodaway at 4 p.m. this morning, (Monday) Services will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the M. E. Church with Rev. Harlan Kispaugh in charge.

William Ezekiel Daugherty, son of Frank M. and Caroline Masters Daugherty, was born near Nodaway, October 4, 1880 and died at his home in Nodaway, Monday, November 27, at the age of 64 years.
At an early age he moved with his parents to Wyoming where he lived for several years until the family returned to Iowa and located in Fontanelle. After completing his schooling in the Fontanelle public schools, he, in partnership with his father, was engaged in coal mine operation, and for 13 years ran the Daugherty mine, 1 mile west of Nodaway. He again located near Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he lived 14 years, returning to Nodaway on account of the illness of his parents for whom he cared until their death. After returning to the home vicinity he was in the employ of the Ford Motor Company.
On March 19, 1927 he was united in marriage to Ivy A. Osborn. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, a son Paul Kenneth, one sister, Bessie M. Daugherty of Chicago and an aunt, Mrs. John Rice of Nevinville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Nodaway Methodist Church conducted by Rev. H. B. Kishpaugh and interment was in the Nodaway Cemetery. Music was by the Rev. and Mrs. Kishpaugh and Supt. H. J. Spicknall, accompanied by Mrs. Spicknall.
The pall bearers were Floyd Agnew, Hill Bowman, Joe Mason, Clarence Gile, Harold Everett, Ben Baker and the flower bearers were Mrs. Joe Mason and Mrs. Patton. The Pitman funeral home in Villisca was in charge.
