Sanford F. Kempton, son of Edward Franklin Kempton and Nola Johnson, was born March 16, 1928 in Jasper Township, Adams County, Iowa and passed away at his home on March 21, 1950 at the age of 22 years and 5 days. His entire life was spent on the farm where he was born.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1944, an infant brother, and a half sister, Mrs. Elsie Richard.
Sanford’s death was caused by measles which he had contracted and due to his weak heart, was unable to recover.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, his sister, Evelyn, one brother, Clyde Kempton of Corning, and two half sisters, Mrs. Hazel Russell of Jamaica, Iowa and Mrs. Lucille Brokaw, Corning, Iowa.
Services were held Friday, March 24, at 2 p.m. in the Boyd Roland Company Funeral Home in Corning, conducted by Rev. R. T. White. Music was by Mrs. Russell Roland and John Riegel accompanied by Mrs. John Champ. Pall bearers were Chester Jackson, Paul Lund, Albert Lund, Leslie Jackson, Robert Little Carrol Little. Burial was in the Prairie Rose Cemetery.
