OBITUARY

Malcolm Lane Gerard, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gerard, was born in West Chicago, Illinois, Sunday, October 7th, 1928, and passed away at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Gerard, Friday morning, November 10th, 1933, at the age of 5 years, 1 month and 3 days. His death terminated a long illness from lymphatic leukemia, which was complicated at the by severe nasal hemorrhages.

He was a patient, cheerful sufferer, and his happy disposition and his lovely sunny smile will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him. He leaves in sadness his parents; his brother, Howard Lee; his grandparents, and a host of sorrowing relatives and friends.

Services were held at the home of his grandparents Sunday, November 12th, at 2:p.m. and he was laid to rest in Prairie Rose cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Rev Howard Congdon of the Federated church of Corning, and music was furnished by Mrs. Russell Roland and John Riegel, accompanied by Mrs. Albert Lund.

Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Poole and Mr and Mrs. W. M. Poole of Truman, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gerard of Fontanelle; Mrs. Ed Mienke and Miss Jane Mienke of Atlantic; Mr. and Mrs. Curt Straughan of Iowa City; Miss Melva Gerard of Chicago; Miss Merle Gerard and Gail Saffer of Greenfield.
