OBITUARY

Isaac Riegel was born in Cedar County, Iowa, April 28, 1855, and died at his home in Jasper township the 17th inst., aged 54 years and 19 days. In early life Mr. Riegel went with his parents to Kansas, but returned to his native state when 21 years of age. He was married October 9, 1877 to Miss Hettie Jane Evans, who died February 3, 1894, in Oklahoma. Six children were born to them; Arthur, Leon, William, Lloyd, Mrs. Arthur Findley, and one who died in infancy. Mr. Riegel was married again on October 9, 1894, in Corning to Miss Evada Hulbert who, with a son, Carl survives him. Deceased had long been a sufferer from asthma, although the immediate cause of his death was dropsy. Mrs. Riegel was in Tama, South Dakota for her health but was summoned home and reached the city just about the time her husband passed away. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. Dow Crewdson, of the Christian church at the home Wednesday and interment made in Walnut Grove cemetery. There are many friends who will sympathize with the relatives over the passing away of a good citizen.
