Hollis G. (Bing) Freshour, son of Warren and Elsie Robison Freshour, was born August 10, 1916 at Corning, Iowa and passed away July 7, 1979 at his home in Villisca, Iowa at the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 3 days.
He was united in marriage January 24, 1946 to Ialeen McKee. To this union four children were born.
In his early years he was a coal miner but later in life was a carpenter. He served in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Linda Sue; his father and two brothers, Harold and Russell Freshour.
Survivors include his wife, Ialeen; two daughters, Mrs. Donna Sexton of Kansas City, Missouri and Mrs. Rita Mae Booher of Shenandoah, Iowa; a son, Hollis G. Fresher, Jr. of Odessa, Texas; two step-daughters, Constance K. Houser of Renton, Washington and Marjorie Irene Amos of Council Bluffs, Iowa; his mother, Elsie Freshour of Carbon, and a sister Mrs. John Dixon of Orient, Iowa.
Funeral services were held at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca, Iowa, July 10 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Claire Kerns officiating. Interment was in the Quincy Cemetery, Corning, Iowa. Military rites were conducted by Ourcq Post 117, American Legion, Corning.
Music was provided by Martin Hentsch, organist and Mrs. Bruce Nelson, soloist. Flower Bearers were Mrs. Roy Smith and Alberta Smith. Casket bearers were Verlin Dicks, Cecil Keith, Earl Petty, Eugene Brock, Clifford Schaffer, and Robert Freshour.
