Nellie May Houck Wycoff

Nellie May Wycoff passed away at the Corning Nursing Home in Corning, Iowa on Thursday, September 2, 1964, at the age of 75 years, 10 months, and 18 days, after a lingering illness of about two and one half years. She suffered a stroke on Thursday which was the cause of her death.
Nellie May Hock was born in Adams County near Carbon on October14, 1878. She was married to William M. Wycoff on September 6, 1899. To this union three children were born, Ruth and Dick Wycoff and Carrie Lundquist.
Those preceding her in death were her daughter Ruth, and her husband William M. Wcoff. Those left to mourn her passing are her two children, Dick Wycoff and Carried Lundquist, one daughter-in-law, Mary Wycoff, and one son-in-law, Mannie Lundquist, and seven grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
The brothers and sisters preceding her in death are Charles E. Hock and Mattie L. Brenton. Those surviving are Bessie E. Frederick, Akron, Colorado, Lottie L. Dotson, Mt. Etna, Herman Houck, Decatur, Illinois; and Gladys E. O’Dell, Hundred, West Virginia.
Mrs. Wycoff united with the Methodist Church at Lincoln Center at an early age and lived a consistent Christian life all through the years. She was a wonderful and devoted wife. Her main thought was the welfare of her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 5, at 2 p.m. from the Lines Funeral Home in Corning with Rev. A. Breeling in charge of the services. Music was by Mrs. Esther Roland with Mrs. Eva Elmore, pianist. Burial was in Lincoln Center Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Roland Schafer, Seymour Schafer, Harvey Peterson, Charles Thomas, Fred Ruben, and Linus Moore.
