Wayne S. Kimpson
Wayne Scott Kimpson, the son of Charles and Florence Scott Kimpson, was born February 15, 1913 in Adams County, Iowa, and passed away at the St. Vincent Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, February 8, 1982 at the age of 68 years, 11 months, and 24 days.
He was married January 10, 1933 to Alberta Alice Lee at Maryville, Missouri. She preceded him in death in 1964.
Wayne was of the Methodist faith. He farmed in the Adams County area. He also worked on road construction here for many years. Later he worked for the Booth & Olson and the Carlson Construction Companies of Sioux City and Deborah until his retirement in 1878.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in math by his parents, an infant brother and two grandchildren.
Surviving are his mother-in-law, Alice Spring of Corning, five daughters and four sons, Deloris Lee Yeager of Atlantic, Russell and his wife Deborah Kimpson, Dorothy Boyd, both of San Jose, California; Raymond and his wife Winnie, Roberta and her husband Art Benson, Stanley Kimpson, all of Sioux City, Iowa; Virginia and her husband Warren Elwood of Lewis, Anita and her husband Jack Gregory of Aurora, Colorado, Steven and his wife Stephanie of Manilla, Iowa; one sister, Darie Emmerman of Utah; a brother Dale of Corning; 38 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
He was a kind and gentle man and everybody's friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held at the Larkin Funeral Home in Corning, February 13 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Elmer West officiating. Interment was in the Lincoln Center Cemetery.
Music was furnished by Emma Fuller, organist, and Marie and Lee west, vocalist. Casket bearers were Randy Elwood, Tracey Elwood, Scott Moore, Rick Kimpson, Mike Kimpson, and Tim Kimpson. Honorary bearers were Albert Miller, Charles Miller, Verle Mossman, Boyd Schafer, Seymour Schafter, and Donald Denman.
