Walter Huston Richards, son of Edward and Susan Richards was born in Lincoln township, Adams County, Iowa born on April 8, 1886 and passed away on November 16, 1963 in Adams County at the age of 77 years, 7 months, and 8 days.
On August 1, 1915 he was united in marriage to Mary Louise Gourd. To this union two children, Wanda and Edward were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ellen Preston and Maggie Farris. Surviving are his wife, Mary, two children, Wanda and Edward; a daughter-in-law, Hazel; three grandchildren, Allen, Betty, and Carl Richards; three sisters, Ethel Asaman, Ada Palmer, and Gladys Enarson; two brothers, Homer and Burton Richards, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church. He spent his entire life engaged in farming and resided at the same place for the past 20 years. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 28, at 3 p.m. from the Roland Funeral Home in Corning, With Rev. W. H,. Sinning officiating. Music was by Mrs. Dorothy Cook and Mrs. Esther Roland. Pall bearers were John Vogel, Frank Hoskinson, Clarence Russell, Earl James, Clarence Miller, and Paul Johnston. Interment was in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
