Richard Gourd, elderly citizens of Adams County, died Tuesday after a brief illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Richards. Mr. Gourd was taken ill at the dinner table last Thursday and was unable to rally from the attack. He was born in England, April 17, 1851 and was 82 years, 3 months, and 8 days old at the time of his death. He is survived by three sons, John, George, and Jess; and one daughter Mrs. Mary Richards. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Walter Richards home at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be made in the Walnut Grove Cemetery.
