Frank Marion Linn was born near Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania , November 25, 1861 and died in Des Moines, Iowa May 7, 1948, aged 86 years. He was preceded in death by his wife four months ago. He is survived his two sons, Ethrie B. Linn, Seattle, Washington, and Ronald N. Linn, San Leandro, California; two daughters, Mrs. Theron Broyles of Des Moines, and Mrs. Hal Terry, Seattle, Washington. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two brothers, A. J. Linn of Laclede, Missouri, and Douglas Linn of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The deceased spent most of his life in Iowa and for eight years was postmaster of Nodaway. He was engaged in the real estate and insurance business for many years, retiring from this business when he went to Des Moines. He worked in the Motor Vehicle Dept at the State House for several years.
Mr. Linn was a thoughtful and kind person, always gentle and soft spoken. He was interested in politics and in spite of illness of many years, kept a keen interest in life.
He was a member of the University Church and was always very active in church work. He as Supt. of the Sunday School and was a choir leader. Mr. Linn also was a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 10, at 10 a.m. at the Lilly Funeral Home in Des Moines, conducted by Dr. Marvin O. Sansbury of the University Church of Christ. The body was brought to Nodaway for burial in the Nodaway Cemetery, with grave-side services conducted by Rev. Rowe. Pall bearers were Will Kennedy, E. C. Kennedy, Frank Kennedy, Vern Wilmarth, Harold Neill, and Floyd Neill of Malvern.
