Mrs. J. B. King died Thursday morning at 5 o'clock from an abscess caused by an attack of typhoid fever. She had been an invalid for the past fifteen years from rheumatism and was cared for by her daughter, Miss Bertha. Mrs. King was aged 60 years, 0 months, and 5 days. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the First Baptist Church at 2 o'clock and was conducted by Rev. A. Y. Cupp. Interment was made at the Baptist Cemetery adjoining the church. Isabel Ann Cline was born January 8, 1844, at Ladoga, Indiana, where she lived until fifteen years of age when she was married to J. B. King. They immediately came to Iowa settling in Adair County near Fontanelle. They resided there for twenty years. In 1879 they came to Adams County and purchased a farm in Carl township, where they lived until 1893. Then they came to Corning. Twelve children were born to Mr. and Mrs. King, five of whom are living. They are J. C. King of Maryville, Missouri, W. E. King of Carl township, E. T. King of Omaha, Nebraska, Pearl King of Hummingford, Nebraska, and Miss Bertha King who lived with her mother. Mr. King died October 25, 1907. Two sisters of Mrs.King, Mrs. Mary Mason and Mrs. Miranda Hickman of Woodburn also a niece, Mrs. Mamie Beadle of the same place attended the funeral.
