Wilson, Lois May Bozwell -
Funeral services for Lois (Bozwell) Wilson, age 88, of Corning, who died Wednesday,
April 15, 2009, at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Lake City, Iowa, will be held Tuesday,
April 21, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the Roland-Ritchie Funeral Home in Corning. Visitation
will be Monday from 3 to 7 with the family greeting friends from 5 to 7. Interment
will be held in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials can be given in her name. Memories
can be shared with the family at www.ritchiefUneralhome.com. Arrangements were
entrusted to Roland-Ritchie Funeral Home of Corning.
Lois May (Bozwell) Wilson was born November 18, 1920 in Adams County, Iowa the
daughter of Noah and May (Fast) Bozwell. She attended rural schools and graduated
from Carbon High School. Lois was united in marriage to Wayne Wilson on April 3,
1943. To this union five children were born. Lois was a homemaker and the couple
was engaged in farming until their retirement in 1976. At that time, they moved
into Corning.
Lois always had a large garden on the farm. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting,
making many family members doilies and quilts. She also quilted many years with
the Lincoln Center Ladies Aid.
Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Dorothy Campbell and husband
Loren of Independence, Missouri; Lola Erickson of Mission, Kansas; and Marilyn
DeVries and husband Ed of Lake City, Iowa; a son, John Wilson of Creston,
Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; a brother, Lester
Bozwell of Red Oak, Iowa; and a sister, Deloras Smith of Goodyear, Arizona; along
with many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Jim; parents; brothers, Earl and
Kenneth Bozwell; and sisters, Grace Finnell, Isabelle Corbin and Dorothy Bozwell.
Although Lois will be greatly missed,
her love and inspiration will live on through her family.
