Rachel Green of Greenfield, formerly of Corning passed away
April 26, 2003.
Services were held Wednesday April 30 at the Corning United
Methodist Church with Pastor Andrew Rubenking officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Prescott.
Rachel was born April 13, 1909 in Adams County to Nellie Beech
(Lockhart) and Millard Fillmore Hoskinson. She was a graduate
of the Creston High School in 1928. On October 6, 1940 she
was united in Marriage to Paul Green in Creston.
She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for Turner's Department
Store in Corning. She also owned and operated Sunny Shores
Resort in Grand Rapids, Minn. from 1960 - 1969. She had lived in
Creston, Corning and Greenfield. She was a member the Corning
and Creston United Methodist Churches.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Wayne (Mary Jane)
Spriggs, Greenfield, Marge (Leo) Van Nausdle, and Annabelle
Eddie Mitchell, all of Des Moines, Jean (Ray) Strain, Kansas
City, Kansas, Millard (Marilyn) Hoskinson, Phoenix, Ariz., Lois
(Cal) Pals, Bouie, MD, Earl (Lorrie) Hoskinson, Prescott, Frank,
Walters and Lou Sullivan both of California, She is also survived
by several great-nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1969,
Brothers Howard and Leland Hoskinson, Sisters Helen Hoskinson,
Lena McIlravy, Merle Spriggs, nephews Vernon Hoskinson and
Donald Hoskinson (died in WW II), niece Phyllis Roush.
