Funeral services for Jack Haley of Carbon, Iowa, were held on April 13, 2002, at Coen-Beaty-Pearson Family Funeral Service in Corning, with Rev. Ken Rummer of the Corning Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment was in Strand Lutheran Cemetery in Adams County. Memorials can be made to Strand Lutheran Church.
Jack passed away April 20, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Neb.
He was born Sept. 5, 1927 in Douglas Township, Carbon, to Clifford Floyd Haley and Lillian McChesney Haley. He worked for EverReady in Red Oak for 36 years. He also farmed about 3 miles northwest of Carbon and also farmed his father's land near Mt. Etna. He retired in 1991. He was a lifetime resident of Carbon.
Survivors include daughter Jackie (husband Bryce) VanHouten of Red Oak; sons Roger (wife Vicki L.) Haley of Corning, Ramon (wife Pam) Haley of Corning, and Doug (wife Linda) Haley of Carbon; sisters Lois Wilkinson of Carbon, Twyla Dicks of Council Bluffs, and Delores (husband Ron) Jackson of Villisca; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Virgil Floyd Haley Jr. and Clifford Haley; and two brothers-in-law, Junior Wilkinson and Victor Dicks.
