The funeral of Mrs. Dr. Walter S. Maddux, formerly Miss Mary Theodora "Mamie" Hewitt, was held at Nodaway last Sunday and the interment was made in the Methodist Grove Cemetery. The deceased is the daughter of Mr. James Wilbert Hewitt and Hattie Elizabeth Betts, and was born at Nodaway, October 4, 1875 and died at her home in Pueblo, Colorado, January 12, 1914. In 1900 with her husband, she went to Des Moines where they both attended the Still School of Osteopathy and after their graduation, they located at Cumberland where they practiced their profession and later went to Brush, Colorado and then to Pueblo where her death occurred.
