Mrs. Myra E. Long, died May 27, 1914, at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines following an operation for gall stones. The body was brought to her home at Nodaway Thursday where a short service was held Sunday morning, conducted by Rev. E. S. McCartney. The regular funeral service was held at Lincoln Center by Rev. R. A. Bixler of the A. C. Church. Interment was made beside her husband in the cemetery near the church. Myra E. Moore was born December 11, 1858 at Muscatine, Iowa, and was aged 55 years, 5 months, and 18 days. She was married to Robert H. Long, December 21, 1875, at Buffalo, Iowa. To them fourteen children were born two dying in infancy. The others were present at the funeral of their mother, except two sons who resided in the west. Mr. Long was a good Christian woman having united several years ago with the A. C. Church of which she remained a faithful member.
