CHAPMAN, TEMPLEMAN, SCOTT, FUDGE

Charles Arthur Chapman was one of then children born to Andrew S. and Alice Scott Chapman. Charles was born August 21, 1887 in Mankota, Kansas.
He was united with the North Massena Baptist Church at the age of 21 years, but was a member of the Brooks Methodist Church for many years. In later years, after retiring to Corning, he was a member of the Corning Baptist Church.
Charels was united in marriage to Viola Templeman on March 13, 1912. To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Bernadean Fudge and Geraldeaan who passed away in infancy.
Besides his daughter, he is survived by two grandchildren, Boyd Fudge and wife Cleo, and Mrs. Linda Peterson; four great-grandchildren, Terri Fastenau, Jimmy, and Tammi Fudge, and Melissa Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Viola; four sisters and four brothers, and by one great-grandson, Marty Fudge and by one son-in-law, Everett Fudge.
Most of Mr. Chapman's life was spent farming in Iowa with the exception of 11 years in California.
Mr. Chapman's family and friends will cherish the memory of his love for his family and his humor and zest for life. Many people learned to love and know him during the years he spent as a house painter. His church friends will remember his loyalty to his church. All will remember him as a very special person who has eft a part of him with us.
Funeral services were held at the Larkin-Roland Funeral Home in Corning, September 17, at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Elmer West officiating. Interment was in Prairie Rose Cemetery.
Music was furnished by Irma Fuller and Denise Wilson. Pall bearers were Claude Chapman, Clyde Chapman, Stanley Ranck, Walt Hill, Rex Badgett, and Marvin Fuller.
