Brown: July 14, 1893 James Brown died at his home in Brooks, aged 63 years.
Elder Jos. Peregrine conducted the funeral services in the Christian Church at Brooks, July 15, and the remains were buried in the Brooks Cemetery.
Mr. Brown was born in Illinois and came to Adams County about twelve years ago. By his honesty of purpose and example of life, he established friendship extensive with his acquaintance. He had been a consistent member of the Christian Church for many years before crossing the dark river. The wife, three daughters and five sons survive the deceased. They have the condolence of many friends to sustain them in their severe trial.
