Gilbert Hicks was born in August 1957 in PhiladPhiladelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died May 1936 in Cromwell, Iowa.
Funeral services for Gilbert L. Hicks were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home of his son Harry L. Hicks of Cromwell. The service was in charge of Rev. C. L. Thomas of Kent and music was furnished by a mixed quartet. Pall bearers were George and Frank Mullin, Frank Purviance, Chas. Johnston, John repp linger, and Harry Landis. Burial was made in the family lot in the Cromwell Cemetery. Mr. Hicks is survived by his son, Harry and a daughter, Mrs .Merle Willis, who had cared for him in her home during the last years. Mrs. Hicks passed away in 1933. The family has been highly respected as honest, upright citizens and wholesome friends and neighbors. A large circle of acquaintances who realize the loss of such good people as Mr. and Mrs. Hicks and extend sympathy to the relatives.
