Dorothy Marie Crisp, 76, was born November 15, 1914, in Grove Township, Taylor County, Iowa to John and Mary Edna Lee Wurster. She died at Red Oak, October 1, 1993.
She attended rural school in Taylor County through eighth grade. On October 28, 1939 she married Vernon Samuel Crisp at Maryville, Missouri. They lived in the Lenox area until moving to Mundeleine, Illinois in 1955. In 1974 they retired and moved back to Lenox. In August 1989 she moved to the Vis
ta Gardens Care Center in Red Oak. She was a former member of the Salem Church of the Brethren.
Mrs. Crisp was preceded in death by her husband in August of 1987 and a brother, Cliff Wurster.
She is survived by her three sons, Ron Crisp and wife Sarah of Red Oak; Fred Sprague and wife Roberta of Omaha, Nebraska, Russell Sprague of Mundeleine, Illinois; a daughter, Evelyn and husband Ed Nelson of Corning, nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a brother Russell and wife Irene Wurster, Lenox, two sisters, Ruth and husband George Reynolds, and Minnie Ashman of Lenox, and a sister-in-law, Mary Wurster of Lenox.
Services were held on October 4 at Coen-Beaty Funeral HOme in Lenox with the Reverend Elmer West officiating.
Casket bearers were Ron Crisp, Russell Sprague, Jack Sprague, Fred Sprague, Rick Sprague, and Ed Nelson. Russell Wurster was honorary casket bearer.
Burial was in the North Fairview Cemetery at Lenox.
