Clarence E. Rubin, eldest son of Frederick and Mathilda Rubin was born March 27, 1895 in Adams Co. and passed away from a sudden heart attack at his home near Lenox, February 23, 1968 at the age of 71 years and 11 months.
He lived his entire life in Adams and Taylor Co. He was a World; War I Veteran,
He was married to Zola Starr September 28, 1926, at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa and they made their home in Corning where he served as sheriff of Adams Co. for three terms. In 1934 they moved to a farm near Lenox.
Mr. Rubin was a member of the Methodist Church in Lenox, a member of Instruction Lodge No. 275 A. F. and A. M. Corning, Iowa 'and he was a member of
American Legion at Corning.
He was proceeded in death by his wife Zola, December 11, 1966, his parents and one sister Loy Oman..
He is survived by two brothers, Fred of Corning and Lonnie of Broomfield, Colorado, two nephews, Carroll Oman, Denver, Colo., and Donald Oman, Cozad, Nebraska. Also five half sisters: Minnie Huntington, Corning, Iowa, Pauline Lindquist, Ft. Myers, Florida, Evelyn Kapple, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Edith Bell, Loveland, Colorado, Verda Lyons, Clear Lake, Iowa, and two half brothers, Emmett Rubin, Bedford, Iowa and Joe Rubin, Brooks, Iowa, a sister-to-law Marie Repass of Villisca and a
number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Feb. 27 at 2 p. m. at the Methodist Church in Lenox, with Rev. Floyd Newbrough, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Methodist Grove cemetery.
