Mary Shipley Wallace, the only daughter of Charles N. Shipley and Margaret Ann Bixler was born December 23, 1880 and passed away March 24, 1960, at the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 2 days.
She was united in marriage to M. H. (Bud) Wallace on April 25, 1900 and to this union two children were born, a son, Marion and a daughter Doris. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter and brothers, Fred and Howard.
She spent her entire life in and near Nodaway. As a young girl she was united with the Methodist Church. She was always ready and willing to serve her church in any way.
Surviving are her son, Marion and wife of Villisca, three grandchildren, Marjorie Voggesser of Maryville, Missouri, Ronald in the Armed Forces, and Marilyn with her parents, and one great-grandchild, Jan Voggesser of Maryville, Missouri. Also surviving are one brother, Wilbert of Nodaway, hieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held Monday, March 28, 1960, at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Nodaway with Rev. Verne Weigel officiating. Pall bearers were Gilbert Rider, Otto Heard, Marion Hendrickson, Sylvester Barker, Revx Davis, and Elvin Nash. Flower bearers wereMrs. Leota Shires and Mrs. Otto Heard. Music was by Mrs. Martin Taylor, Mrs. J. R. Dismakes, and Mrs. Harold Everett. Interment was in Nodaway Cemetery.
