Vogel, Rosa Maude Scott -
Rosa Maude Scott, daughter of Charles A. Scott and Mary Adeline Miller Scott was born in Lincoln Township, Adams County, Iowa, August 14, 1882.
She departed this life February 2, 1967 at Lincoln Center at the age of 84 years, 5 months, and 18 days.
She was united in marriage Jan. 31, 1906 to William E. Vogel in Lincoln Township at the home of her parents. To this union ten children were born: six sons, Earl, Russell, Glen, Don, Ralph and Ray; four daughters, Mrs. Verle (Helen) Mosman, Mrs. Boyd (Wilma) Schafer, Mrs. Leo (Alice) Johnston, and Mrs. Rex (Beulah) Bissell. She is survived by five sons, three daughters, six daughters-in-law, three sons-in-law, one sister, Mrs. Lillie Miller of Lenox, 29 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband William in March, 1954, one daughter, Mrs. Alice Johnston, and her husband Leo in January, 1952, one son Earl in
May, 1957, one grandson Robert Bissell in July, 1962, three sisters Mrs. Florence Kimpson, Mabel Kemp, and Daisy Mae Scott and five grandchildren who died in infancy.
She became a member of the Potter Chapel Church at an early age, and when it closed she transferred her membership to the Lincoln Center Church where she worked untiringly until the time of her death.
Her entire life was spent within four miles of her birthplace.
Services were held Sunday, Feb. 5, 1967 from the Lincoln Center Methodist Church with Rev. Edward L. Sullivan officiating. Music was furnished by Donald Drennan, Dale Calkins, Stanley Evans and Roy Penfold. Mrs. Beryl Roberts was pianist.
Russell, Glen, Don, Ralph and Ray, her five surviving sons, and a grandson, Donald Vogel served as pallbearers.
Mr. and Mrs. John Cimock and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Schafer served as flower bearers.
