John Henry Sink

SINK, COULTHARD, KENSEVICK, BRITNELL

John Henry Sink, son of Peter and Elizabeth Sink was born December 10, 1875 and departed this life, July 6, 1960 at the age of 84 years, 6 months, and 25 days.
He was married to Nellie Mae Coulthard on November 4, 1914. She preceded him in death April 13, 1959. To this union six children were born, three preceding him in death. Henry and Nellie made their home in Adams County, Iowa where they raised their family and were active in civic duties. They attended the Church of the Brethren of Mt. Etna where their entire family belonged and was baptized.
Hen as he was called by his old friends, was well liked and loved by children and grown-ups alike. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
Henry is survived by two daughters, Clare Kensevick of Los Angeles, California and Mary Ann Britnell of Omaha, Nebraska, one son Millard Henry of Corning, two brothers, David of Modesta, California, Homer of Bowbells, North Dakota, two sisters, Emma Wingert of Carrington, North Dakota, and Anna Sparks of Coteou, North Dakota. One sister, Mrs. Sadie Simpson preceded him in death.
He is also survived by two sons-in-law and one daughter-in-law and eight grandchildren who loved him deeply.
Henry was living in Omaha at the Britnell home at the time of his death.
Services were held Saturday, July 9, 1960 at 2:30 p.m. from the Roland Funeral Home in Corning with Rev. Homer Caskey and Rev. Ralph Kester officiating. Music was by Clarence Johnston and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Evans. Pall bearers were Calvin Sink, Francis Coulthard, James Briles, and Audrey Liddell. Interment was in Prairie Rose Cemetery.
