William Z. Marsh of Brooks died at the Lindell Hotel in Corning, Iowa, on February 27, 1900, aged 71 years and 24 days. His home was at Brooks and he came to the hotel about two weeks previous and was taken ill and died before being able to return home. The funeral was held from the M.E. Church at Brooks and interment in the Brooks Cemetery. He was born in Onondago County, New York, and had been a resident of Brooks for about thirty years.
