William B Kennedy, son of Edward and Sarah Kennedy was born May 12, 1884 in Nodaway, Iowa and passed away June 6, 1961 after a two month illness.
He grew to manhood and spent his entire life within a few miles of where he was born. He was united in marriage on January 12, 1910 to Phyllis B. Conway and to this union four daughters were born.
He was preceded in, death by his wife, one grandson, his parents, and three brothers. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughters, Sarah Rider, Mary Goldsmith, Grace Porter, and Helen Syhlman, 21 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, Edna Fravel, Frank Kennedy, Fred Kennedy, Phil Kennedy, Nellie Kennedy, and Winifred McClelland; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Thursday, June 8, 1961 at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Villisca with Rev. Father Eugene Klein officiating. Pall bearers were Joe Northup, Phil Kazor, Mike Shipley, Gerald Shipley, Dale Strait, and Joe Scanlon. Music was by the St. Joseph choir. Interment was in the Calvary Cemetery at Creston.
