Victor Dicks, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Dicks, was born near Mt. Etna, Iowa, September 19,1879, and at the time of his death [May 11,1909] was aged 29 years, 7 months and 22 days. He is survived by [five children], his mother, who has the misfortune of being blind and who makes her home with her children, besides six brothers and one sister. They are J.E. Dicks of Anthon, Iowa, W.E. Dicks of Correctionville, Iowa, F.R. Dicks of Rulo, Nebraska, John Dicks of Corning, George Dicks of Council Bluffs, Charles Dicks of Correctionville and Mrs. John Richards of Mt. Etna.
The funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church in Nodaway on Thursday at 10 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. C. J. Cardy and the remains were brought to Cornng on No. 4 and taken to the Quincy Cemetery where they were laid to rest along side of those of his wife. All the brothers and the sister were present at the funeral except Charles who was detained on account of injuries received a short time ago in a runaway.

Note; Mr. Dicks died as the result of a house fire two days following the death of his wife .
