Chas. S. Taylor died Monday, January 27,1914, at his home at Brooks following a long siege of tubercular trouble. The funeral was held the following afternoon at the Brooks Methodist Church and was conducted by Rev. W.E. Shugg. Interment was made in the Brooks Cemetery.
Charles Sylvester Taylor was born November 1, 1877, in Woodford County,Illinois, and was ages 36 years, 2 months and 26 days. His life from childhood had been spent in Brooks with the exception of a few years spent in Osceola. Three years ago he engaged in busines in Brooks, and continued until July 15th of last year when he disposed of his interests to his brother, since then he failed rapidly and was confined to his bed the three months preceding his death. During his long illness he was always patient and cheerful and fully realized his condition.
Besides his parents he leaves four sisters and five brothers; Mrs. Minnie Leonard, Mrs. Nellie Metcalf, Miss Grace Taylor, Ed Taylor, J.S. Taylor, E.E. Taylor, Walter Taylor of Brooks, Mrs. John Sutton of Bentley, Iowa, and F.P. Taylor of Council Bluffs.
