Adams County Union-Republican, Corning, Iowa
Wednesday, April 9, 1902

Richard T. Bell died April 1, 1902, at his home in Windsor, Missouri, of asthma. The remains were brought to Corning by his wife and brothers, J.W. Bell of Corning , R.W. Bell of Prescott and a brother-in-law, Grant Snyder of Carl. The funeral was held at the First Baptist Church Friday at 2:00 o'clock conducted by the pastor, Rev. W.E. Adams, assisted by a former pastor, Rev. J. Soetens and Rev. A.J. Coe. Interment was in the cemetery adjoining [Forest Hill Cemetery, Mt. Etna, Iowa].
Richard T. Bell was born in Scotland January 31, 1857, and came to America in 1861. He was married to Miss Nellie Snyder of Carl, September 1892. Deceased had lived for a number of years in the vicinity of Carl where he and his family had many friends and relatives. They had only been in their new home two weeks when he died from the effects of a severe cold contracted while removing there, resulting in pneumonia. The family have the sincere sympathy of their friends in their bereavement.
